Then I have tried to install Meecolay and it worked! Tweetian ok and Nelisquare login screen too (I have it installed but I don't have an account yet).
Removed Meecolay to see if the problem returns but Tweetian works ok, except for the application closing when in background.

There's no way to exit the app from within the app, have to use ctrl+backspace then close it from the task manager. When I leave it to use another app it shuts down for no reason I can tell. It also starts from tweets several hours away from where I last updated(right now everytime I load it a new it show the last update tweet from 7hours ago) Otherwise this is the finest twitter app for maemo I have ever used

Another bug: saving pictures to the local hdd gives a fail message.

Many thanks for your effort 'Custodian'.
One of the annoying things (bugs
) that I saw in many applications like this (nelisquare, Yappari and some others 
) is typing with second characters of keys (shift+keys) for some languages like persian, arabic, hebrew, etc., which is not supported. Imagine you want to type the character "چ" which is assigned on "P", or "گ" which is on "O" as the shift (2nd) keys, but it types Latin "P" or "O" instead. So we should use ukeyboard instead, but the application ("nelisquare & tweetian" only) closed unexpectedly (now expectedly 
) because of that "known-background-bug".

will take a look. umlauts wasnt working, but now they do. will try to search with signs you provided

Thanks Custodian.
Was using TwimGo till it decided to go kaput on me. Tweetian turned out to be awesome. I believe Pocket integration is not working on Maemo yet because in my case it refused to sign in. Also waiting for the Exit button I somehow cannot close from right-top corner.
PS - I checked the "Close on right top corner" on Butaca... it worked.
