I have set up scratchbox and sdk according to his. Is there any way to use this sdk directly on n900? I know there is qole image but it's outdated.

AFAIK, qole Maemo 5 SDK image works well. I've added modified this image with more softwares, see item 3 of :
Easy Chroot package for MeeGo Harmattan
It can be run on Nokia N900 and Nokia N9.

AFAIK, no. It has gcc 4.2.1.

Thanks for link. I realized that gcc4.7 is x86 binary so I can't use it.
