Have you made the other versions? Where could I find them?

I just tried cssu5 again and can confirm that it doesn't work. (After my first reboot it gave me a nokia ring but then seemed to be working. But after a second reboot it started giving me no-ring again - also no alarm sound).

My phone has CSSU, stock kernel and uboot.

    @JohnHughes:

So here are all pulseaudio builds:

    original nokia version 0.9.15-1maemo43+0m5:
    http://repository.maemo.org/pool/mae.../p/pulseaudio/

    cssu1:
    http://repository.maemo.org/communit.../p/pulseaudio/

    cssu2:
    http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pali/pa/cssu2/

    cssu3:
    http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pali/pa/

    cssu4:
    http://repository.maemo.org/communit.../p/pulseaudio/

    unreleased cssu5:
    http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pali/pa/new/

If this still does not help, I can build version between original and cssu1, also between cssu1 and cssu2. (cssu3 and cssu4 contains only one patch).

is it safe to say that this point, it's still not safe to install Testing 8.2 (thumb). the 2nd instance of safe meaning it's not gonna break anything important...?
if getting the default nokia ringtone is the only problem, what fixes do i get in return?
file system breakage is not sth. I want to risk lightly

AFAIK -thumb version is not hit by that problem, it has (thumb-compiled) cssu4 since April. So if you have cssu-thumb 7.2 installed, you are on that version already. However cssu-thumb is a little bit OT here

For what is fixed - see the changelog http://wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU/Changelog#Tmaemo8

Ok, will get on to it.

Currently phone has cssu1 (0.9.15-1maemo44+0m5+0cssu1) and works ok.

cssu5 and cssu4 give me the famous bug.

Currently trying cssu2 - struggling to tear the home phone from the hands of wife and kiddies so i can call myself.

Alarm has worked, first couple of calls worked.

Then I got one silent call.

    and another.

If I'm on that version already, why is HAM offering me to install:
    (thumb) 21.2011.38-1Tmameo8.2+thumb1
    ?
Should I do this upgrade or not?

I actually like that feature. FAT has no real concept of permissions so everything beyond "read only" needs to be re-applied after each reboot. Promiscuous permissions are much more convenient (if less secure - but using the word "secure" in the same sentence as "FAT" sounds like asking for an examination by certain specialists ).
