I have a nokia n900 that won't seem to mount. I always get waiting for suitable device. I have tried windows xp sp3 and lubuntu. When I plug the phone into the usb the yellow light comes on and the usb icon shows on the faded screen. However, I never get past waiting for the suitable usb.
I have taken apart the phone. there is epoxy on the port. The other guy said he had trouble mounting as well.
My phone is stuck in a nokia loop. Phone boots to nokia logo and then rebots over and over.
Is the port damged?
Can I flash from sd?
Is there a way to reset the phone from the board?
The two things are connected. If the phone does not boot properly then it can't present MyDocs as mass storage. The failing boot may have all sorts of reasons. What you describe might be as simple as dead or nearly dead battery. If the USB port is dodgy, try charging the battery in an external charger (or another phone) and see if it makes a difference.
Can you use your device in PC suite mode? If yes, try a reflash via PC Suite.
When plugged in a wall charger, does it say CHARGING on a yellow band on top of the screen?
-If yes then you have a FW problem and you need reflashing, try a reflashing via PC Suite.
-If no, maybe your port is broken and reflash is no further possible. You can still hard reset it from settings menu. If your port is dead you can make hi-speed data transfer via wi-fi (winscp).

What do you mean winscp? How does that work to reflash it?
