    New User Question
Is there a program available for the Nokia 770 that would allow Me to connect to Windows remote desktop or Terminal services. I am an IT Manager and I have a 770 on order and would like to use it to access My servers around the Office/Home/World etc. I currently use a Treo 650 with Mobile Terminal services but the screen is getting a Little small for My eyes....

    Dear New User,
There is A Menu Labeled "Search" At The Top Of This Page.
Please Type 'rdp' Or 'rdesktop' Or 'VNC' In That Box
And Read The Answers To Previous Similar Questions.

YOu can use 2 programs for remote access to your windows computer:

    1. rdesktop
uses rdp (remote desktop protocol), is quit fast and runs natively the resolution 800x480 on your server.
Problem: The onscreen Keyboard could not be used, you need to use a bluetooth keyboard (but this is buggy, too)
When running rdesktop you could not put the session in the background and run another application on your 770.
I think this app just needs more time to get fully hildonized

    2. vnc-client
The VNC Client runs quit good on the 770 but on the Win-Machine you need to be logged in AND the resolution of the Win-Machine will be shown on the 770. You need to scroll a lot.

I use rdesktop with the problems mentioned above (you could tunnel your traffic through SSH to get a secure remote access solution).

I hope this will help you a bit

    Mark

Thanks for the Info , Sounds like the big problem is the 770 onscreen keyboard . I Wonder if I could use the onscreen keyboard feature within the windows terminal session.

you can use rdesktop with the "on-screen keyboard" from windows. after you connect to the windows machine, just go start->programs->accessories->accessibility->on-screen keyboard.

You could use the on-screen keyboard inside windows, but you need a bluetooth or usb keyboard to send username/password.

And if you already have a keyboard, you wouldn't need the on-screen keyboard. The only input into the rdesktop app is from external keyboard, you can not even use nokia 770 built in keyboard to login.

if you set the login & password from the connection settings window (before you connect), you will be logged in directly (at least this works for me)
