I did some searching and couldn't find anything on this. I have a brand new N810. Haven't done anything to it, yet. I open the OS2008 site and at the bottom it says that there is a new recommended system upgrade for Nokia N810. So, I click "Learn more from the support pages" and I get a white page with this:
"Unable to open binary input file ip2loc/IP-COUNTY .BIN"
I also get the same when I try to access support on that site.
If anyone had any suggestions, I'd be appreciative. Thanks!
I don't have a fix for this, but I can at least confirm that you're not crazy, and it wasn't anything you did.
I just unboxed my new 810 about half an hour ago, and I think I did exactly the same thing. First thing I did was fire up a web browser and see that "A new recommended system upgrade ..." message, only to click it and get the popup window with the quoted error.
I updated the OS (go here) and that made that upgrade message on the site go away, but I still get this unable to open binary error when I try to access support.
