No, it's really not for a 2013 $1000 tablet. It's not good for a 2013 $1000 laptop either. I'm willing to accept a measly battery life on my much older µPC, but this has no excuse. Specially when the figures they give are for _idle_.

Besides, you're on maemo.org. We certainly know that "other tablets can't even do half of what this can" is not true.

There's promise of great improvements with regards to battery life in the new Haswell ULX that's due for launch next month.

So if they release a Surface Pro II, you might get your wish.

Two new tablets will be announced today.

In the red corner: the underdog Lumia 2520. And in the blue corner: The current champion: iPad 5.

live stream...from apple event: http://www.ustream.tv/ltktv Live with some real major apple fans...boys

I would now call it Apple iPound, but the real name is called iPad Air.

Nokia 2520 runs Windows 8.1 RT. iPad Air runs iOS 7. One of those has a bigger set of developers than the other and one has been panned in the first iteration of its release.

Sadly, Nokia chose the Windows RT path. Just like the WP8 (limited manufacturers), they're ultimately the only manufacturer (other than Microsoft) that's actively producing a Windows RT product. Simply stated, they're not going to sell a lot of those. Having LTE, a very nice screen and a snappy Qualcomm chipset isn't going to help them out.

And I say that with a Surface 2 in my own house. I just don't see it being a commercial success.

iPad Air, silly name, but falls right into scope with their existing line - Mac Book Pro, Mac Book Air, Mac Mini, Mac Pro, iPad Air, iPad Mini... coherent and not 4 random numbers that mean nothing to me because I'm just not counting any longer.

iPad Air and iPad Mini wins over Microsoft Surface 2/2 Pro and Nokia 2520... hands down.

Let's say you visiting a website on your Ipad mini. There is a video stream that you like to see or Atleast listen to. But when you are switching tab to TMO to see what the great and powerful dave999 has written the sound disappears. How do you solve that on Ipad mini?

How can windows be worse than That...

Love your overestimation of your power and writing skills. I use Google Chrome (despite Safari actually being snappier) on my iPad Mini and thus, I use tabs. Just like a desktop browser, if I'm streaming in one tab, it will stop once I focus on another tab. So, not sure what you were going for; it's the same for any in-browser use. If you mean via another app, like the YouTube app and then I switch to the browser, then it will halt.

Just like Android (non-windowed instanced videos) and just like unpinned Windows 8.1 (RT and Pro) on a Surface. Once you pin a streaming video instance and browse in the same screen; you're golden. I can stream and read your "brilliance" without having to lose either of them. But... that's already known.

How can windows be worse than That...
Erm... it's Windows. So let's start there.
