I originally voted in the poll for 650 EUR but after thinking about it I would gladly lay down $1000 or more to have neo900 a reality. When is the Kickstarter going up?

It's been ages since I've been here, but this project really perked my interrest. I really missed the Maemo community feeling.
I didn't read the 88 pages before me (something I would have done in the past, but not anymore) so I don't know if this idea was already discucced, but it would be really nice to make the main-boards available (like a DIY kit version), so we could change the innards of a regular N900 to this upgraded HW.

Well, you could at least read the first post, cause the answer is there :P

Hoooh! slow! we're working like mad on a publication that
    a) appeals to you
    b) allows us to do our work
    c) doesn't have any pitfalls - you know there are many of those in business.

Nikolaus still hopes we can get some 20k donations in the next 10 days. So that's the timeframe you can calculate with ;-).
    Real Soon Now!
    stay tuned!

    cheers
    jOERG

(ps.: sorry I failed to remove the signature on all my posts in this thread. I better had done)

the bare board will probably be guaranteed to be <=700. Even more exciting: we might reach < 500/bareboard-unit with as little as 1000+ units total (bareboard plus complete device)

    Hi!

What about battery life and current bugs which prevents daily use of the phone?

Please update neo900.org page with the current status and update your first post as well.

    Thanks

Are you saying once you hit 1k+ you may be able to offer the board for as little as 500EUD?
What about the entire pre-assembled unit, once you hit 1k+ what price (approx) can you do for it?

battery life expected to be same as in N900, since the hw is almost identical.
There's no Neo900 yet, so no bugs yet that prevent daily use. We hope there never will be any such bugs either.

We will update neo900.org page with current status as soon as something significant changes with current status. Same for my first post.

    Regards

Yes. Exact values are still to be evaluated.

Approximations for now are that the complete device should cost 100-150 EUR more than board alone.
