May be. But I don't feel enthusiastic about adding SIM functions, cause this will unnecessarily complicate the application. I'll focus on improving existing features.

* UPD / 27 Oct 2013
— Added signal level graph
— Update period can be set by clicking corresponding button (1 s, 3 s or 10 s)
— Screensaver is controlled by a switch
— The settings are stored in the file system
— Cell ID changes are written to ~/MyDocs/MeeCell directory
— In WCDMA mode UTRA channel number is displayed
— Available data transfer mode (2G - GPRS, 2.5G - EDGE, 3G - UMTS, 3.5G - HSPA) is shown in brackets after the name of the network mode

Thanks for the update! Request: it appears MeeCell stops logging when the app is not in foreground, i.e. swipe the app aside and it suspends. An option to override this feature would be nice - it would be more preferable than merely disable the screensaver, which can be done with other tools as well.

Other nice-to-have, in case you are severely bored: the ability to log GPS trace and/or plotting it on a map.

Thank you for your reply.
MeeCell 0.3 does log Cell ID changes only, not signal level history. So, I think it doesn't stop logging while running in background. Of course, I can implement some settings for logging, kinda [No logging | Cell ID history only | Cell ID and dBm level history], but I'm short of time now, and these changes are planned in future.
What's for GPS, I can definitely say I can make my app show current coordinates and log them to file. Some map bindings are more complex to implement, hence, I can't promise. But the idea is great, thank you.

It's ok but maybe you can also create application with specific SIM Card access function like read (and write if possible) service info like Voicemail number etc.

Hi qsqb .. thanks for this wonderful app. I notice that with this, update I can now see the UTRA channel .

On my phone, it shows channel no. 46337 , which on looking up at http://niviuk.free.fr/umts_band.php , doesnt seem to map to any known band here .

Overall, this is an awesome app, I love it. Please keep up the good work.

Hi, nokiac.

Thank you for your opinion. I'm very pleased with it.
What is for UTRA channel number, it is showed directly from system API, and API manual page says that a valid range for this parameter is 0...16383. Hence, when I tested new application version, inappropriate value seemed very strange to me too.
Perhaps, this number is kinda combined with other parameter (similar to Cell ID in WCDMA mode). Whatever it was, I'm going to make a new version in November to bring the program to the mind.

Thank you.

I was anticipating similar problems. MCC and MNC are of fixed length, but operator name can be a whole sentence... And I think, "Bouygues Telecom" will not fit my Siemens C60 (antique phone) screen too .
Of course, I'll try to resolve this issue. Maybe, I'll remove "W-CDMA / GSM" label and only "2G / 2.5G / 3G / 3.5G" will be displayed.
