    Install Linux on N900?

    Hi all,
I'm beginning to scratch the surface of alternatives OSes we can install on our little baby.
If I'm not mistaken, there are two ways to install Linux on N900:

    - chroot
    - effective Linux Distro on an external SD

My N900 has the touchscreen broken, so I have to work only with shell. Is there some howto to install a "true" Linux on N900 somewhere? I'm not able to fine anything complete.

    Thanks!

    Technically Maemo IS linux ;D
I think somebody did quadboot tutorial with desktop Linux. I might be mistaken, though. You shoud check that out.

Search for archlinux. You can even install it in a partition on mmc. There is a very good thread on this.

Thanks for the Arch input! I will totally try it.

OT: Btw, does anyone knows how to connect the wifi via shell? I don't know how to download anything, otherwise

    Thanks!

    On Maemo:
    • iwconfig for WEP (probably installed by default)
    • wpa_supplicant for WPA (it's somewhere in repo or forum)

    On Arch Linux:
    • iwconfig for WEP & wpa_supplicant for WPA (maybe not installed by deafult - use pacman)
    • wifi-menu for both (installed by deafult at least in newest version)
