The 1million is reference to them "hoping" they'll have at least one other Sailfish OEM/ODM on board soon, so it won't only be them selling Sailfish device(s).

[Dave999] IMHO Jolla now have standard minimal batch of devices = 100 000 .
50000 for first wave (maybe 20000 is EU now shiped, rest is to world), 50000 for second Finish wave.
When next batch in next year will be one milion ? God know ..

And .. "this month" have in real only 4 days! from start. See you point?

Have you seen photo with persons flashing first devices? This is slow, laborious and expensive process. This is not exist in big production batch. Device is flashed in factory. And next year Jolla will to have better firmware for new devices.

This million devices will be make, packed and sell in China .. by largest mobile provider. Absolutely different case ..

The first 450 were flashed manually by Jolla with love because the image flashed by the factory was a bit old.
The retail devices sold starting from December should arrive with the proper image already from factory.

And the rest of the pre-order devices that were supposed to start shipping as from 27th?

Interestingly, JollaHQ have recently tweeted that "We are not commenting on the logistics" in response to questions about whether any phones had actually (or were about to be) shipped ...

Have to say I'm going to be a little disappointed with Jolla if people can actually buy phones in DNA shops before pre-orders start reaching the customers.

I don't think any devices will be shipped in November. DNA said that they have the phone in stock in December. This sounds like they are still waiting for the devices to arrive from the factory.
