I think it is quiet, because everyone's busy refreshing Fedex' website
Just a heads up for those who got the 'In picking' status yesterday (like mysef) - try checking Fedex. Mine is finally trackable since about one hour ago and it should arrive tomorrow.
Some Finnish reports say that Jolla might have finally gotten to the 3xxx level in the webstore order sequence. There are still plenty of people stuck at Paid, though - including first wave orders.
It is certainly getting down the wire for Christmas deliveries. While Monday is still a delivery day in theory, due to the holiday culture I wonder how many in practice will be able to receive theirs or get theirs delivered to e.g. a possible office address.
As I've maintained, I think Jolla has a chance to ship by Christmas if the orders top out in the 3000-4000 range, but it will get awfully close and many recipients will not receive theirs in time for various reasons, including those related to shipping companies - not just recipients being away.
Of course it would have been great to hear this from Jolla, but as we now know, they clearly chose to keep the radio silence to the bitter end. I expect 3000-4000 range people to go In Picking and shipping probably during the rest of this week, up to Monday.
After Christmas, if the estimates are correct, would probably be deliveries that got away but didn't get delivered in time, as well as some assorted international deliveries they may have extra issues with (non-EU destinations?). This is my guess.
Quite probably some people won't get their Jollas in the 3-4 weeks from payment.
As I've seen it, from reports, Jolla doesn't follow the webstore order numbers exactly - but as a ballpark-rule, they do follow them roughly. Maybe they split them into groups that get assigned to different people and that explains the discrepancy in webstore order sequence. Anyway, 3xxx have gone into picking lately, while other 3xxx still remain firmly in Paid. I think 4xxx range is still firmly in Paid too.
The saddest part, of course, that these late ranges include very early orders too - so Jolla failed in respecting the priority of the pre-orders, e.g. because the webshop invites didn't get out in order or there were errors in getting them our, but also due to clearly not respecting any very clear order processing sequence at all.
Hmm I can't seem to find any fedex tracking #2517, maybe i'm doing something wrong. But would be great if it is delivered tomorrow.
Just as a note to possible Finnish readers related to FedEx tracking (not you bertjefred), I doubt it helps Finnish pre-orderers - Jolla probably uses Itella for those deliveries. Unless the approaching Christmas makes them switch tacticts, given that the Finnish pre-order email of December 12th promised delivery by Christmas.
