This issue started after I installed Phoenix and tried dead phone flash with it, but since it didn't work I uninstalled that along with all other nokia softwares(connectivity drivers etc.)
Now I am unable to get N9 in flash/update mode.
Whenever I put command and press enter and connect phone. It doesnt go in update mode, it displays USB icon and later big battery charging icon. Earlier it used to vibrate and used to start flashing.
I am guessing that somehow flashing driver is not getting installed.
I tried to install it manually by using option 3 in this link but that also didnt help.

Even pressing power button for over 8 seconds is not working.
I am really not having any clue about how to resolve this.

Please help.
I guess you are using windows, right?
Probably your windows USB drivers are botched, you did something or other and managed to get the drivers misaligned. (common thing with windows, I wonder why it is so easy to break it?)

@juiceme Thanks for reply, yes I am using Windows 7. This is drivers related issue but I am unable to understand how to fix it.
I do have Linux Mint but I don't use it much nowadays.
Is there anyway to remove all N9 related drivers and start all over again?
I had installed Phoenix and then uninstalled it along with nokia connectivity drivers. This issue started after that.
Please check attached screenshot.

Uninstall everything (EVERYTHING) related to Nokia (suite, connectivity, flasher, map loader, whatever , ...).

Download PC Suite Cleaner exe
Run it as admin.
Reboot.
Run it once more.
Install flasher (in case you like also Nokia Suite) again.

Run flasher as admin
Connect N9
(if it does not flash, disconnect, power off and connect once more).

Common problem with Windoze ... (at least some versions!)

@peterleinchen I will try as you have suggested but most surprising thing was I also faced similar issue when I tried in kubuntu on same laptop.
It gave following error.

Success as far as the eye can see, but when I boot the device I get yellow waring sign and an error like:

"Device not working properly

Try updating the device software with Nokia Software Updater...

Security problem (aegis-exec):
/usr/lob/libaegis_crypto.so.1.0.0"

Any idea on how to fix this ? I tried the suggested NSU on Windoze, but it fails at the end of the update - after it reboots the device gets hung on the NOKIA logo.

Also I should mention, that flashing on Mac seems to randomly fail at various percentage of completion. The run above is a rare struck of luck, after a few retries.

What's the normal usage for "flasher -R" ? Should the phone be left connected to USB after it boots ? I read at http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...75&postcount=1 that it should be yanked out of USB.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks !
