I thought I'd add to this thread a bit of info that I think is the solution to this problem of Pandora stopping after a song or two and the need to tap the screen to get it going again. I was searching around and found a beautiful program on Meamo.org that when installed on your 2007 firmware version of the n800 simply gives you more timing options for brightness timing and screen off timing. This gives you timing ranges much longer than the Nokia comes with. I set the screen so that it would not go off in the near future and voila, Pandora keeps playing without intervention.

The thread I found out about this is at:

http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...=reboot&page=5

It's a very easy download and install and if you do a backup before reflashing this capability persists.

The Maemo page link for the software is on the tablettalk link above or you might just sign into Maemo with your n800 and then search for 'moredimmingoptions ' in the download section.

Or try this link: maemo.org/downloads/product/os2007/moredimmingoptions/

I imagine maybe in the new 2008 software this is the sort of thing that has solved the 'Pandora problem'

[QUOTE=sungrove;108085] I set the screen so that it would not go off in the near future and voila, Pandora keeps playing without intervention.

Well, I thought I had the solution. It was working beautifully last night as I said in the above post. But today after reinstalling all the programs I like it is back to needing tapping on the Pandora web page to get it playing again. So, I wonder about this?! It was working just after a fresh reflash, after backups were restored but before reinstalling my applications again. I wonder if one of the installed applications is somehow competing with Pandora. I installed the FM radio, Canola media player, the Camera, Gizmo, Skype...

Will stay on this,

Yes!! In the 2008 beta version on the N800 I can confirm that Pandora functions as I dreamed it would. It does not stop playing, but just keeps going and going playing great music without commercials or cost-an amazing web site. I upgraded to the 2008 beta firmware today even though I knew I would probably lose a lot of other software functionality in the hopes that Pandora would work. It does, so I'm not going back to the old firmware. I think this is great news.

Well for me it's the media player applet that keep on stoping when the screen goes blank... listening any internet radio.

I'm a newbie with my N800, OS2008 is ther any setting that I'm not aware off beside leaving the screen always on?
Thx
