Yep because if it is not there your sd card will not be recognised.

Absolutely. I didn't bring up this possibility because typically the user would say the card USED to work till recently, or something like that. The OP seemed to be saying that this card NEVER worked.

**** it ended up falling off and i had super glued the kick stand back. I had jsut bought this cover too. I really don't feel liek buying another one off of ebay from england again.

there's a probability that your SD card if broken and need format
and don't write the same post in all sections !

Comfirmed that you need the magnet in the kickstand to sd card be recognized.
I lost mine months ago and have to use another kickstand to copy files from sd card.
