Hi,

My N9 has all of a sudden and for no apparent reason started giving SIM card error. The phone no longer connects to the network. Trying other SIMs gives the same results.

Error message that I get in Mobile network settings: "Mobile network settings are not available. SIM card error." The phone also does not show IMEI in the About product menu when it has a SIM card inserted. With SIM card taken out, IMEI shows up.

The phone is on latest Nokia firmware.

Pl help. I'd really like to keep this phone for a bit longer. Happy to follow any troubleshooting steps and post results.

No. Not the case. Other SIM card also gives same error and both these SIM cards work in a different phone.

Hello dude

I think y you should reset your device or reflash as a full reflash and then hopefully will return back to its normal condition

Hi Salahkhani,

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried a restore but it is not helping. The screen gets stuck with a 'please wait' message and if I power down and boot again, the problem continues.

Was trying to avoid a flash but looks like the only option now.

try using this command

flasher -F ape.bin -F emmc.bin --erase-user-data=secure -f -R

ape for the normal version file and emmc for emmc file just rename them and use this command

Thanks a ton for your assistance here.

Can you understand from the error message what the problem is? I am a bit unclear how a secure delete will revive the phone. I am attaching the full flasher output. Will you pl give this a look and see if you can identify the cause of the errors. Thanks again.

I tried the secure delete command too but still getting the same error message. Would you know what is the meaning of MTC_POWER_OFF not received. Perhaps some clue to what I may be doing wrong.
