Hi there,

Hope you folks can help me out. After upgrading the OS on my Blackjack to Crossbow (WM6) and installing the WM6_BT_DUN hack, it appears as if I've now got this up and running on my Blackjack.

I have been able to connect the N800 (OS2008) to it, but it seems to be a rare occurrence. Typically, when I try to connect, the BT icon turns blue on the N800, the BJ wakes up, and for a bit nothing happens until the N800 tells me the connection failed.

Is there a step to this I'm missing that will make this a more reliable operation? I was under the impression that pairing the two devices and ensuring the DUN was a supported protocol was enough to make this "just work".

What I've noticed is that when the connection DOES stick, I have to 'hang up' in order for the internet connection to start working again on the Blackjack. When the connection doesn't occur, I never lose internet connectivity on the BJ.

Any help would be appreciated.

J.

Is there at least a way to troubleshoot why the Internet Connection via BT DUN keeps dropping? The error message I'm getting from the N800 is useless and I can't tell if it's the phone or the N800 that's the root of the problem.

Thanks.

Where you ever able to work this out. I have a Blackjack now with WM6 and an n800 with OS2008. I have installed the BT_Dun cab thats floating around but have had no luck connecting even once. When I click my cell connection the comes to life and it just searches for a bit and then says it cannot connect. If you have ever got it to connect what username, password and number do you use in the profile setup?

Thanks,
Jim

I have a Blackjack running the official WM6 firmware from Samsung and I should receive my new Nokia N800 this week. I, too, am interested in this question of tethering the N800 with the Blackjack to serve as the wireless connection for the N800 when there is no WiFi access-point nearby. I have spent countless hours searching for a definitive wiki on how to do this and have had no luck.

I wonder if the problem is related to the network service provider (in my case AT&T) preventing this type of use with the phone. Is it the phone? Are there different phones that could be purchased from the same network service provider that will work on their network? I am currently subscribed to AT&T's MEdia Net service.

I understand that there is a significant difference between BT DUN and BT PAN. I also understand that both the Blackjack and the N800 can operate with either protocol - given the proper upgade through the WM6 BT DUN hack in the case of the Blackjack or the BT PAN hack in the case of the N800.

I am sure that someone in this forum can shed some light on this question.

Thanks,

Steve

This thread and this thread might help in getting around the differences and incompatibilities between DUN and PAN devices (Nokia IT's and Wm5/6).
