Better not use this kind of adapter with the fragile N900 usb port. Use a female to female usb adapter and the MicroUSB cable that comes with the N900. A smaller alternative is CA-101D which is really short

Alright then. Furthermore, I see in the reviews that this accessory won't deliver any power to the connected accesory, so I'll go with the traditional option.
mini usb to usb adapters can work fine...depends what you are going to hook up to it though....
What works for the n900 will more than likely not for the n800...
They are worlds apart in many respects.
Only when projects are backported from the n900 to the n800/n810 device line is there hope of compatibility ...and not everything is backport-able ...so to speak.
However there are many many many years of trial and error by many members who wanted to get otg working on the n800...there are probably more posts in both the n800 and OS2008 subforums than was ever tried for the n900.
There are issues in some cases with the amount of power drawn from hungry devices being possibly damaging...there are ample amounts of successes...suggestions...failures...and warnings in the n800 and OS2008 subforums that can help.
