Hi...I was trying to install OMweather and keep getting the message"unable to install omweather. incompatible application package"

    I'm downloading from:

    http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2008/desktop-environment/

    I have an N800 w/os2008.

    TIA!

    Joe

I had this same problem, but it worked just fine when I went to Application Manager and got it from there. Go figure.

It's not listed in my Application Manager. I tried refreshing and everything else but can't seem to get any additional apps to show up.

Quite possibly the problem here is that you don't have the right repository in your Application Manager. I think OMWeather is in the extras-devel repo.

In Application Manager, go to Tools->Application Catalog...
    Create a new entry
Set the Web Address to http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/
Set Components to "free non-free" (without the quotes)

I see it in my AM.

Thank you Everythingsablur! That worked fabulously. I'm in business.

Thank goodness for the NEWBIE section and all that help us out.

No problem. I had to pull out my N800 at the office just to double check the repo.
