I cannot send files via bluetooth obexftp or right click bluetooth send file from my debian system.

cannot modify file permissions for shared directories.
when I use obexftp from pc I have rx permissions but dont have w.
I can create a folder and files on my n900 via obexftp though n900 wont receive files via obexftp if I copy from pc go to obexftp directory on n900 and paste.

just tried removing trusted setting from settings->bluetooth
n900 would prompt me to accept connection and when just using
browsing n900 obexftp directories. when sending file from pc to n900 I would get a 1 second prompt to accept file. hit save file but didnt get option to put it in a directory. file did not get saved.

btw my microsd card was already in /home/user/.obex-root
didnt have to add it like this post says

AFAIK this is still an open bug on Ubuntu too, been a OBEX problem for about two years now or more, maybe since '09 or '10. A real PITA for me too.

using debian stable. I have no problems sending files to my Sony Ericsson W810i via obex ftp on bluetooth.

I can create files via obexftp on my n900 from debian and delete them.
just for whatever reason I have no write permission.
will try with slackware see if I get same results but the problem seems to be with n900.

I would love a fix, be sure to post it to debian or ubuntu bug.

ok I have sent some files from my pc to n900
a .pls file and a .jpeg

I have also sent some ringtones and picture files from the n900 to my pc.

for whatever reason I cannot send mp3's from pc to n900
was thinking the problem was 8.3 rule but doesnt look like it.
    anyone else know of anything?

think from win7 I sent a folder with mp3's to my n900 but they just got put into root of obexftp dir. couldnt find them on my n900 with mc search including hidden files&directories.

from my debian wheezy 7.4 64bit system KDE with azio 2.1 bluetooth usb adapter I was able to pair and send files to a LG 769 with bluetooth 3.0 no problems. can send files my Sony Ericsson W810I with bluetooth 1.1 no problems. I can send files from my N900 to my wheezy 7.4 system no problem.

tried to setup daemons for debug and am checking log files. got syslog installed on the n900 but not getting much for info from it.
    edit:
found this searching the net after toying around with bluetoothd, obexd and system logs.

    obexd is refusing large files
    https://gitorious.org/maemo-bluetoot...bian/changelog

I have obexd 0.18-0maemo6+0m5 OBEX Server
    installed.

    edit:
    installed from cssu testing repositry
    rtcom-eventlogger-async
    librtcom-eventlogger1-async
    obexd_0.46-1
    obexd-client_0.46-1

that didnt cure my problems. though was getting a error in syslog.
    obexd : PUT(0x2), FORBIDDEN(0x43)

I flashed my n900 with combine and reinstalled stuff then installed cssu testing
so far it looks like this has not cured my problem
    edit:April 2 2014
today I received a IO Gear USB 2.0 Bluetooth 4.0 adapter
backwards compatible with Bluetooth 1.1 and up.
I have played around with CSSU testing 21.2011.38-1Tmaemo9.1 (01.01.2014)
File Manager now has send via bluetooth option, you can view other bluetooth devices and the shared folders on them. I have tried sending and receiving files with File Manager though everytime the connection gets bungled up and errors out ending bluetooth connnection. for some reason the bluetooth option in file manager stopped working. I shut down the phone left it be for hours started it up and File Manager bluetooth viewing worked again but the connection and file transfers would error out again.
