    The N9QT tweak asks you if you want to enable this at startup and if so it won't be brought down; its enabled in mine and see the below to see my current setting due to N9QT:

    Code:
    Simple mixer control 'PreDriv',0
      Capabilities: pvolume penum
      Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right
      Limits: Playback 0 - 3
      Mono:
      Front Left: Playback 3 [100%] [6.00dB]
      Front Right: Playback 3 [100%] [6.00dB]

    I dont know why but aftr doing a call, the speaker volume becomes normal again.
    If I apply the tweak again, then volume boosts again. Weird.

    And anything about earpiece volume? To increase in-call sound?

    Just a follow up with my problem - all of a sudden call volume went back to normal on my device. That is without any intervention from my side.
    I still can't tell if it was HW of SW related problem. But "all is well when end well"

    Don't like the idea of blasting my speakers incidentally but would like to make use of N9QT tweak S, but not with 100%, rather something like 80-85%. Would that be possible?

    As far as Schturman remembers from some russian forum it seems not.
    Is that the last word?

    I found the solution to icrease call volume(earpiece). Edit file
    Code:
    /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/nokia-dfl61-twl4030-output-earpiece.conf
    and change in
    Code:
    # Enable earpiece output from DAC2 left channel only.
    [Element Earpiece Mixer AudioL1]
    switch = off
    [Element Earpiece Mixer AudioR1]
    switch = off
    [Element Earpiece Mixer AudioL2]
    switch = on
    [Element Earpiece Mixer Voice]
    switch = off
    [Element Earpiece]
    volume = 2
    to
    Code:
    volume = 3
    Reboot. Until now the earpiece volume will be 100%, even after reboot/call.

    Even with the tips in the above post the call volume was too low on my N9, so i had to edit the file
    Code:
    /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/nokia-dfl61-twl4030-output-earpiece.conf
    even more.

    I changed the volume limit in line 32 from 17 to 18:

    Before:
    Code:
    volume-limit = 17 # steps 0-18, 0: -24dB 12: 0dB 17: 10dB 18: 12dB
    After
    Code:
    volume-limit = 18 # steps 0-18, 0: -24dB 12: 0dB 17: 10dB 18: 12dB
    and the volume limit of the Element DAC2 Digital Fine to 100(line 56)

    Before:
    Code:
    [Element DAC2 Digital Fine]
    volume = 61
    After:
    Code:
    [Element DAC2 Digital Fine]
    volume = 100
    Maybe this is helpful for someone.

    To get the call volume a bit more louder again, edit the file
    Code:
    /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/nokia-dfl61-twl4030-output-earpiece.conf
    .

    Change

    Code:
    [Element DAC2 Digital Coarse]
    Volume = 1
    to

    Code:
    [Element DAC2 Digital Coarse]
    Volume = 2
    Do not set it to 3, it will reset it to 1 again, only 1 and 2 are possible.
