I found this worked great - but only after I pressed the U key before plugging the cable in, as in normal reflashing. It rescued my N900 from a strange 'gray screen' limbo.

I dont know how bricked my phone was, simply it wouldnt boot.
I couldnt flash the eMMc first as Nokia recommended on the old firmware download page. So I flashed the Combine for whatever reason it will flash that but not eMMc. after flashing the Combine I could flash the eMMc but it is messed up have had some glitchy experiences. the phone wont flash when it should ie keyboard out holding u and have the usb icon in upper right corner. my phone would show that but not flash it would go to booting screen I had usb cable plugged in had flasher waiting to find device the n900 will have boot screen showing dots usually the lcd screen will be very dim if not off but after you get the dots screen the eMMc will flash.

I ran into my phone getting bricked by using backupmenu with a corrupt microsd card. apparently no one else has had the same issue as me or typed the Tar error 2 response.

did 白い熊 page ever get backed up or added to wiki I cannot get to the page he listed and see no reference in how to flash wiki

Hi! How do I get this Flash program for Win7? I keep getting the error 'The requested URL /maemo-dev-env-downloads.php was not found on this server.' when I try to download the Flash.

hit the waybackmachine and search for
    http:///skeiron.org/tablets-dev/maem...env_downloads/

How to get N900 flasher to work in Windows 7 64-bit (x64).

    [IGNORE!]
    Install Flasher 3.5 - http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-d...-downloads.php[IGNORE!]
    Download libusb-win32-bin-1.2.2.0.zip - http://sourceforge.net/projects/libusb-win32/
Press U while starting N900 and attach USB
Wait for the original driver to install.
Run inf-wizard.exe (bin folder in zip) - Run as Administrator

    Press "Next"
Search in list and select "0x0421 - 0x0105 - Nokia N900 (Update Mode)"
    Press "Next"
    Press "Next"
    Save .inf file
    Press "Install Now"
Press "Install this driver software anyway" on warning message.
You should get "Installation successful." and press OK.

Check Windows Device Manager for "libusb-win32 devices", expand and verify "Nokia N900 (Update Mode)" can be found.
Now you are ready to run Flasher 3.5 with your parameters.

Thanks for that, Ive managed to flash it now using this guide. I had to do a fresh install of XP on an old machine which I had kicking about, but apart from that it went without problem

    Hi All,

I've just bought a Nokia N900 and wanted to reflash to its original state. I have checked the wiki page about flashing but none of the links for the images or even the flasher are working.

Can you please let me know if you have any other source of these software?

    Thank you very much!

Use the link @nieldk provided two posts above https://web.archive.org/web/20131117...env_downloads/ for the flasher utility for your PC system.
From the same archieve.org you may fetch the firmware here: https://web.archive.org/web/20131117...ev/nokia_N900/

    edit:
Actually I could download the flasher, the combined image and the vanilla image too. Will try the flashing soon, but I have a 64 bit win 8.1 system, so not sure it's gonna wor at all. I'll leave an update here about it.
Thanks for the quick help anyways. Lets see if the Nokia N900 is still worth to use in 2015. :-)

    EDIT:
I was able to flash the phone using the command line in Windows 8.1 64bit. I found a very good solution for 64bit operating systems...

    Thank you for the support!
