Thank you. Please find a local charity that benefits the society and donate to it instead. If you want to take the extra mile then please find one that improves the life of poor people by educating teaching them or teaching them. That would make me happier

    Thanks again for your offer

however, the button seems a bit buggy now. after capturing by tapping between the button and the edge, the button stops working sometimes, until i do a long press on the button.
im having trouble pinning down the exact buggy behaviours, but it seems pretty evident, comparing 0.0.19 and 0.0.20

also, im a fan of making the button bigger instead of adding margins, but im more than happy with the way it works now, barring the bug above.
    I did it again
I broke the state machine of the whole capture process and I also broke the zooming via rocker keys. I will work on a fix.

The issue with making the button larger is the page layout will look weird :/

imaginaryenemy, i started donating to GiveDirectly, which is a pretty cool experimental charity to put money directly into the hands of the poor, with as little overhead as possible and an emphasis on verifiable results.

i found it while looking for a place for cameraplus donations last year.

    0.0.21
    * Fixed zoom not working with rocker keys
    * Revert the fix for preventing accidental focus reticle movement

I really apologize @wolke for reverting the fix. I tried to fix it but it's just not working

Slightly OT, but is there any chance of avoiding use of libomap3camd?

The reason I'm asking is because libomap3camd doesn't work under 3.5.3 kernel (it gives completely black images) on nemomobile. Since you have "played" with it - I imagine you could shed some light on the subject.

    The short answer:
Unfortunately it's not possible to have a camera on N9 without libomap3camd

libomap3camd (omap3 camera daemon library!) contains 3A (auto exposure, auto WB and auto focus algorithms. It also what does the actual image capture).

    The long answer:
It might be possible. We just need to develop our own 3A stuff. I remember someone (Sorry I forgot who he is) was trying to get something using fcam but I don't know the details.

Do you have any details about 3.5.3 kernel? Any link that describes how to build and test it?

I cannot promise to check it as my laptop is overheating and I am not sure it'll survive kernel compilation. My gut feeling is it's a patch or 2 for the kernel.
