Well my "update" to the 2.2 beta was pretty ugly. First try failed failed to update one of the depencies, so it just bailed out on the update. Second try "failed" also but now all the updated packages are listed as installed, but "broken". Yet things seem to work still. Not sure what to think.

Is there any reasonibly safe was to force a reinstall of the latest beta? maybe via dpkg?

I just installed via apt-get install rtcom-beta-os2008 via the terminal to get it to install for me. otherwise, it failed even in red pill mode.

one thing since my update is that I can no longer open the mail client for some reason. It still shows me when new mails arrive and allows me to read them if I click them on the app switcher but it wont allow me to get to them via the full mail client. Have tried a full power down and restart to no avail.

First try with the update just now worked a charm in red pill mode.

I ended up having to run the "broken" packages through dpkg --configure. All seems well now other then:

Contact status still seems to have a bunch bugs for me. (ie. ICQ users show "available" in the contact list, but then show "away" when you go to chat with them. They are actually N/A so they should be "away" everywhere. Also I often show "away" in the chat windows when I'm certainly "online")

Looks like the SIP video call startup bug is still in there also.

I'm seeing the same thing. Email Inbox and Compose E-mail won't launch from the contacts panel. However E-mail will launch via its icon in the application panel. And tthe compose window can be launched from apps like the browser. Seems like the contacts panel wasn't updated or has a bug now.

just updated to 2.3. No problems with the install thru red pill mode. Havent noticed any differences yet. Would be really nice if they could list the changes.

A SIP video call bug I reported has been marked fixed, but I'll have to test it out tomorrow. I'm very hopeful.

Maybe some other ICQ users could verify this bug and commment if they see the same behavior.

I think it's a rather important one for icq, I'd hate to see it in the next OS update.
