What kind of secure instant messengers would you suggest for Sailfish? AFAIK there is non native available at this early state of the OS.
This gets me to Android with Threema as a closed source program.
Maybe Gibberbot as Open Source Project? Whatsapp is the most popular but rather insecure

Regarding AlienDalvik - in case I want to use XPrivacy with the XPosed Framework I'd normally have to root the phone first.
How/Does this work with the Jolla phone?
Of course I want to have maximal control over any programs sending data out. How is this handled in Sailfish and AlienDalvik?

    Thanks!

XMPP with OTR and ZRTP would be ideal. Native Telepathy doesn't support it yet. Your only bet for now is probably Jitsi for Android: https://download.jitsi.org/jitsi/nightly/android/

Please write back here if you have any success with it, since some already tested older builds on Sailfish with Alien Dalvik, and Jingle calls didn't work there.

Kontalk will be supposedly great. Based in XMPP, libre software, decentralized servers, real phone numbers not sent to servers... They told to have it done on XMPP for June, but it's already June there is no news yet

(I know is an old thread...)
