Sometimes I have to set the encoding of the webpage manually since the html source code doesn't specify. Unfortunately, I found that the browser (I thing it's microb) only allows you to choose from a very limited set of encoding, no Chinese, no Japanese, etc...

Can I enable this?

IIRC, you can download extra character sets from the Application Manager. I downloaded Arabic (ttf-Arabic) and Chinese (ttf-chinese)and microb now displays both character sets correctly

I think you misunderstand the question. The problems is not that the browser can't display Chinese - it does as long as the html page specify the right encoding. However, it it's not specified, then for non-unicode pages, microb has to guess but there is an option for you to manually specify. Like in regular firefox/ie, you can specify anyone you want, but in microb, it only gives you several options, which does not include chinese or japanese...
