Since chemist stepped down from being the CSSU-Stable Maintainer we are searching for a new one.
The task of the maintainer ist to decide (with the help of the other cssu developers) what goes into a each release, and then making that release happen. Making the release happen includes a few things:
The CSSU-Stable maintainer also is responsible for some wiki pages: http://wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU/ChangelogStable http://wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU/FeaturesStable Coordination of the CSSU team mostly happens on freenode irc in #maemo-ssu If you're interested you can post here, come on irc, pm me ...

Thank you merlin1991 to remember to our community that there a lot of little big roles here (@maemo.org) that anyone can join to make things go ahead while making a nice personal experience.
There are a really limited number of communties allowing to live this kind of adventure! Please, don't forget that we need developers, maintainers, testers and volunteers to join the techstaff. We have a little place for everyone. Also for the ones that every week have just a few hours of free time that would contribute to "help us to keep on the lights". |

Thanks for nominating me, it's always nice to be mentioned.
I am a daily Stable user and wish our communities Stable branch continues to provide the necessary fixes and patches to end users. Not having a update in over a year now has been frustrating to many; including myself (possibly to the point many have moved to testing or thumb). There are a few important patches including A-GPS certificates that need to be provided asap to end users. Remember there are still many N900 "end users" out there we don't just turn into developers and power users overnight ![]() I also feel it's important to have an up to date solid LTS for all users, which is what CSSU-S is there to provide. I did mention at the #maemo-ssu meeting I would like to help. However, as I mentioned there I have no experience in using gitorious. This doesn't mean I am not willing/trying to learn, OTOH I am still not sure if I can just immediately fall into the role, hence the advertisement.

At the moment there is no clear list of the more needed roles, except the cssu stable maintainer here advertised. This happens because everyone now involved is giving all his free time with responsibility to fill also the "empty spaces". BUT, no one here is a bot (i hope ) and every member of techstaff and ssu maintainers team can't be here 24h a day to take care of everything..So, the right place to start from is this thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=90972 Then, if you feel that your skills could help in any way, please start joining #maemo and #maemo-ssu irc channels and present yourself to techstaff as described in the attached thread. |

as a suggestion, how about writing out a simplified set of instructions on the wiki. For example, pushing a critical bug fix to a package not currently in cssu. That way you could go through defining policy/procedures for anyone looking to get involved.
