I agree. also think the current ones look better. at least the network icon.
But it won't bother me if you want to change them

I was trying to do this in my ios7 theme a while back, its not possible without some modifications. The image files themselves associated with the battery icons are in about 5 stages, so you cant swap the images. MFaroTuniso had some progress on it which I tried to work off but got nowhere.

So no, its not possible easily, it needs some mods that no one has made.
