I'm newbie so ...
I installed all of blow packages from http://openrepos.net/users/nieldk/ :
aircrack-ng_1.1, ethool_3.10-1, hydra_7.2-1, macchanger_1.6.0-1, openssh_6.3, openssl_1.0.1e, reaver_1.4, wireless-tols_2.9
I'm using kernel-plus for Harmattan: 2.6.32.61-plus r6, but I received different messages and errors from first post .
I attached screenshots.
After running first command "aireplay-ng -9 wlan0" my phone doesn't detect any wlan without rebooting.
May I want you guide me?

Where can I find guidance to use ethool_3.10-1, hydra_7.2-1, openssh_6.3, openssl_1.0.1e and reaver_1.4?

thanks a lot
with regards
1 you didnt install wireless-tools
at least correctly
2 because of 1) you cant use airmon-ng
3 in order to get mon0 you will need airmon-ng
airmon-ng start wlan0

wash seems in generel to have issues, not only on N9. But, again, I repeat, this is not a stable monitor mode. Still seems to 'loose' wifi connection when enabled (airmon-ng). As you figured out, opening the network applet and letting the N9 search for accesspoint seems to again activate the wlan0. Also, I am afraid, it seems that TX power is rather weak. Meaning that we will need to be in proximity of accesspoints to be cracked.

Ive been away for a while, updating the phone updated the wireless-tools and its working, have you had any more sucess on the injection Neil? I had tried some things before and had little sucess. I was going to say for the tx power we could change the devices country to bolivia BO and see if we could change the txpower. The issues I find fascinating is that you only get networks in airodump when you search for networks after its running. I am stumped

Hi to NielDK,

Cheers to all your hard work here, your a champ.

I used to play with aircrack-ng on the n900. but im pretty much a noob at this these days.

so I followed the steps I could find.

got my stock n9 16gb flashed to
- open mode
- then to ubiboot
- then the kernel plus - linux_2.6.32.61-plus-20131128

- developer mode
then installed
wireless-tools_2.9_armel.deb
macchanger_1.6.0-1_armel.deb
aircrackng_1.2-b1_armel.deb
iw_3.11_armel.deb - didnt realise it was a seperate package.
n9tweak

then sorted out the $PATH variable, devel-su doesnt load the .profile which made everything not work pretty much. and wireless-tools is installed to /usr/bin/sbin which wasnt in my default root $PATH variable. "cat /var/lib/dpkg/info/wireless-tools.list" shows the location of the files installed

below is what happens on my N9 not sure what the "ifconfig: SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device" means you get a different error message.

$:~# airmon-ng start wlan0

Interface Chipset Driver

wlan0 Unknown wl1271_sdio - [phy0]ifconfig: SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device

(monitor mode enabled on mon0)

RM696-21-3_PR_005:~# ifconfig mon0
ifconfig: mon0: error fetching interface information: Device not found

RM696-21-3_PR_005:~# iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor
RM696-21-3_PR_005:~# iw wlan0 info
Interface wlan0
ifindex 3
type monitor
wiphy 0

RM696-21-3_PR_005:~# aireplay-ng -9 wlan0
22:31:53 Trying broadcast probe requests...
22:31:55 No Answer...
22:31:55 Found 0 APs

any obvious issues?

Cheers
