I did not actually use the connection - I simply connected a device to the n900 AP and it received an IP address. Do you not get to see the AP essid on the device you want to connect?

If you have some app like wifi-switcher it might be interfering with the loading of the driver.

I just re-checked and Qt Mobile hotspot works. BUT it will not work with the bleeding edge wifi driver, prolly 'cos of a naming issue.

May be this problem is due to weak signal of your phone.

Try this: with QtMHS apparently running, choose connect to hidden AP /essid on your lappie, and type in the AP name you gave the n900. Try to connect. Just for fun.

It is all I can think of for now....

Just upgraded to kernel power 53 and Qt Mobile Hotspot now works with the Bleeding edge / injection wifi drivers as well.

Pali revealed that there was a bug previously with ad-hoc mode.

So perhaps installing/upgrading to kp53 may help you panjgoori?

I flashed my N900 few days ago. Thought may be some apps are stopping Qtmobile hotspot from working but now it gives error when I try to turn on hotspot. I will try KP53 in few days and report. Im a bit busy in my university Lab work.

after installing KP53 now N900's hotspot is working fine. Windows 8.1 have problems seeing my hotspot but i can successfully connect my external TP-Link usb wifi adapter using TP-Link's own software. see pic attached. its a shame that both Windows 8.1 and BlackBerry 10 doesn't support Ad-hoc connections.
