Hi guys, ive had my N810 for almost a week now and am loving it, especially with some great help from these forums

I know this may sound strange as the N810 has a real keyboard, but sometimes I like to just use the on screen one. But in the last week i think ive only managed to use it about twice!

I have it switched on in the input settings (as well as the stylus keyboard) however whenever i tap on a text box with the keyboard closed i just get the grey bar at the bottem with the Abc in the corner. Only once or twice have i managed to get the stylus or virtual keyboard to come up

Ive tried tapping, double tapping, pressing hard/soft, holding finger down, all with the keyboard closed, but no joy

Are there any other settings hidden anywhere I can try and adjust? Is there a sensor which detects the keyboard closed which may be faulty? Any suggestions?

Thannks!

Hi. The design basically is that if the physical keyboard is open, the virtual input methods do not open. So it might be that the sensor that detects the keyboard is then broken (although it's the first time I've heard of such a defect...).

hmmm, it definately doesnt come up as much as i think it should.

I read something that said the keyboard status is accessible to 3rd party developers, is it possible to create some kind of script that simply responds with 0 or 1 to show which status the keyboard is in?

I really dont want to have to go through the process of sending it back to the website i bought it from (and have to be without it! )
