Today, the implementation is complete: now every video is played inside its tab, you can clone the repo and compile the browser yourself or wait for the next version (usually I release it nearly once a week)
thats great thank you, ill probably compile it in my real time systems lecture
For whatever is worth, this approach is similar to how it is handled on the Linux desktop-- for KDE at least-- apart from third party applications, icons are handles as as separate package.
EDIT: I wanted to reply to W00t: latest comment...
And by the way, this allows for easier theming anyway. Custom icon packages have to include icons for the common applications as well... and the desktop standard should handle fallback to a default "hicolor" theme if there is no custom icon in the theme.
Maybe this is already possible but overriding the icons (global or local) with those supplied in an ambiance would be nice.
Also, I like the application settings being separate to the application UI. The problem is application developers can't access settings currently like that and there are also ports from other platforms where they've kept the old way of doing it. This will presumably work itself out mostly when Jolla get around to it.
edit: to stay on topic, nice to see buteo sync fixes
