Reflash. Data is stored in non-volatile flash, so reseting to factory defaults requires a reflash (well, or lots of time).

I'm not aware of a function that sets all the software back to factory. The hardest reset is to flash the firmware which wipes everything in the process. If the device is crashed solid, take out the battery to reset.
