I've created a new account by accident... and lost all my messages... Now, I've installed photorec and trying to get messages back... is the db the one under /home/user/.whatsup ?

yes, the file still there? (filename is your phonenumber with country code without the zero's at start)
if the file is still there, just make a copy of the file, regitser the same number, replace old file, done!

you may also try to rename the file to the new registered number, see if thats working.

Unfortnaly not... the file has been deleted.

I rescued some SQLite (the db is sqlite right?) with photorec, but I am still working on it...

You sure i can switch file with different registration? The text seems encrypted and I wonder about the key used to decrypt it

This could have been handy, but link is dead...

    I'm sorry for your loss

I didn't know the sql database it was encrypted, but if it i s, I'm pretty sure it's using base64.
It's a pretty easy encryption to decrypt.

Check your settings. I got a notice about the new version and the update works just fine.

Sorry guys, I have 1.2.4 installed. And I just tried to create a new chat group (haven't done that in a while). And it doesn't seem to work. I can give it a name, add a picture, add participants, but when I click on "Done", it just doesn't do anything. The button gets greyed out and I am still in the group creation menu.

Is that a bug, or is something wrong with my phone?

Also, when adding a picture to a a profile, the gallery seems to be not fully updated. Only some of my pictures are shown to choose from.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
