Attention: I did not have sqlite installed, and Google Gears did not work (the browser gave some bad errors). After installing sqlite, it works fine. Currently testing it at rememberthemilk.

strange... I even rebooted it. Tried to uninstall it and then install it again with dpkg -i as root.. didnt work that either. This is realy strange. Anyone know if the browser writes any logfiles!?

Cool! I installed the sqlite first and suddenly I got a gears question when logging in to rememberthe milk. I added a task in offline mode in RTM and it syncs just fine when entering onlinemode again! Ladies and gentlemen, we got offline web on the tablet!

It feels very slow.. dont know if its rememberthemilk or gears that make it slow, have to do some more testing!

seems like it works just fine as long as I have the browser open, entre offline mode and then walk around in the offline pages.. If I close the browser and try to open it again in offline mode the browser asks me if I want to enable online mode again, if I press no it just gives me a white page..

After installing the component it didn't show up under the 'components' menu but the demos seemed to work. Then I deleted ~/.mozilla and the component showed up in the menu but now I now keep getting a 'this demo requires Gears to be installed(...)' popup at the Gears demo apps pages. I checked and I do have libsqlite3-0 installed. I can't image this ever to run fast on a tablet b.t.w. being all javascript.

Ok, I still dont see it in components but is works fine when entering a site like RTM or google reader.

After trying out the gears for two days I found out that is seems a bit unstable. Ive been trying to use it to download google reader stuff to read on the buss but sometimes when I launch reader it doesnt recognize gears at all.. it works fine when it works but sometimes not at all.

The speed isn't so much the problem for me, but I have the same problem as miind. I can't close the browser and remain offline. I read somewhere else that it might work to add some sort of "offline" connection to pick from the list.

Maybe I'll just have to write my own RTM app?
