Hi

I'm trying to install Jolla's OS using this tutorial http://wiki.maemo.org/Sailfish#Introduction on Nokia N9

but I'm stuck in this step, Image : http://imgur.com/nNkYksW
I waited 30 minutes for it to connect and no luck

Note I have the phone turned off and connected via a reliable usb cable and I have tried both USB 2 and 3.0 ports with no luck,

any help?

Did you ever had connected your N9 to the PC? In flashing mode?
The forum is full of threads and posts with exactly same question and answers, so bear with me to not repeat myself and others for the hundredth time.

which os?
libusb64
drivers installed?
no front usb, other usb port
other pc, other os, linux live cd
original cable, other cable

Oops I did it again ...

Thanks for the reply,

that problem was solved, now I'm trying to flash uniboot and have done all the previous steps to the letter, but when I enter the command "flasher -a main.bin -k zImage_2.6.32.54-ubiboot-02_301013 --flash-only=kernel -f -R" in cmd and connect, the phone turns on as soon as I plug the USB and I get the waiting fiasco error persists,

any help?

Thanks

Please stop cross-posting. Or asking the same question in different new threads. It will not help you to get your answer sooner.

which is exactly the same situation (not an error) as you had.

So maybe you may answer yourself?

sorry for the other post, I couldn't delete it..

as for the issue, I'd be grateful if someone could tell me if I messed something:

i have all the files in the C:\Program Files\Nokia\Flasher directory

1: I open an elevated CMD
2: cd C:\Program Files\Nokia\Flasher
3: set PATH=%PATH%;"C:\Program Files\Nokia\Flasher"
4: flasher -f -F main.bin --erase-user-data=secure -F emmc.bin --erase-mmc=secure
5: flasher -a main.bin -k zImage_2.6.32.54-openmode_l2fix --flash-only=kernel -f -R
6: Enabled Developer mode using Repomirror
7: turned off and : flasher -k zImage-moslo -n initrd-moslo -l -b
8: Changed developer password for remote SSH access using the Terminal app on the N9
9: copied ubiboot_035_sailfishos.tar and sailfish.tar.bz2 to N9
10: connected using putty.exe and entered:
devel-su
cd /home/user/MyDocs/
tar -xvf ubiboot_035_sailfishos.tar -C /
11: trying: flasher -a main.bin -k zImage_2.6.32.54-ubiboot-02_301013 --flash-only=kernel -f -R

but phone would not connect and keeps turning on when I plug usb

Maybe someone can give me any advice

Thanks and sorry again

Sounds good so far.

Maybe try that:
power down, hold power button for about 8-9 seconds, enter flashing command and only then connect USB.

If that does not help only thing I would see is the '-a main.bin' parameter. You may try with '-F main.bin'. It should not make a difference, but ...

We've had that many times with new members. They post their first question and it does not show up, so they post it again. I assume some kind of moderation is going on for new members and the forum interface does not make it very clear.
