@Endsormeans, even though we all think that the Neo is special ... but in the end it's just a thing a device. And friends, family, health and people who care about you are far more important. Take care of your situation quickly, peacefully and you will find yourself on a new side of life with new rays of sunshine eventually.

And lastly, it not a safe place to store long term necessarily ... but perhaps it's time to start a bit coin account . If it shoots up you may have a lucky surprise .

    Best wishes to you mate.

    x

Oh and a little on topic, any updates ... silly, tiny or big are welcomed.

endsormeans, I'm very sorry to hear about your current situation. Life can be really shite sometimes, but keep your head up and I'm sure you'll come out stronger.

I'm kind of sad that you could miss out on a Neo900. Your support and enthusiasm for the project has been immense, it's quite clear how much it means to you. You've been fantastic for TMO since you joined, single handedly keeping the 770/N8x0 communities alive, plus so much more.

I think we should all consider starting a fund raiser to get endsormeans the Neo900 he deserves. It might be a long shot, given the cost of the device. What do others think?

    Aw crap..
    feathers...xman.. wicket...
    thanks guys..
    ...
and yeah xman ...I do see that far more important are friends, family and keeping myself ...and yes it is just a device...just another...
and past all that is truly more important in life...
it is the next important thing..
    it's a frickin' neo
But yeah xman I hear what you mean...

and yeah wicket .. I'm doin' my best...even still by her.
She is beginning to see at least the financial sanity in settling things out of court. I do hope that at worst... it works out smoothly.

    Geez wicket....
I see now ..I rather like standing on the other side of praise...
ie- giving it to my good friends here...especially ...lavishly ....on the ones doing good and great works...
    but receiving it...
    well...I'm torn...
happy to help ...and... I'm mortified.
I just figure I bumble through and do what I can...or try to come up with something that could help. Not much different from anybody else here I think.
(Shakespearean aside- the 770 is loverly and the n8x0's abso. fabso. frankly...I think everyone...man woman and child should have one...fun, cheap (nowadays)..and a great maemo linux starter for anyone...enough pumping the device line )

Some have already offered financial help and equally mortified ()...
(actually I'm at a loss for words on so many fronts lately...)
simply put... I felt I couldn't accept the offers...
If my situation were truly dire..and my two best buds.. rescue cat (Cat-O) and pup (Eddie - Eddolfus the 3-legged one-eyed wonder) and myself had our butts on the curb and feet in the gutter...
    then yes ..
to keep me in cat and dog food for my buds..
I'd accept the help my friends have offered.
    But I'm not quite there...yet.
And I hope by the grace of All that is ..I never am.
I thought about the offered help and it isn't that I am turning it down.
Taking offered money from my friends..especially when in a possible hard spot...well..it doesn't sit well with me. I find it hard is all. It isn't pride. I know that. I like all you guys too much to take anyone's money...
Now if everybody here were arses of colossal proportions ...
I would happily and with no problem accept any and all monies, gift cards, travel soaps, etc.
Fact is financially everything may yet turn out well concerning my personal divide.
I'm not sure...I cannot say that I feel the ground underneath my feet feels especially firm at present.
Also .. I have half the board's cost already with the project.
I could pay the remainder today I believe.
    It is just the uncertainty.
I wrote the neo team and asked that if (And that is "if" things get that bad for me.) things do become truly grim for myself ... that it be possible to hold my neo until I pay the remainder due as quickly and timely as humanly possible.
I'd rather not ask for a refund, and bow out.
I'd rather not take monies from friends either (mind... I said I would not turn down an invite if ever in their neighbourhood ...and the offer of course is reciprocated...if ever they are in my neighbourhood...etc. )
I'd rather hope I can manage it...hope that everything works out fine.

I am mortified, aghast, appreciative, humbled, honoured, and far too many more "states" all at once.
I cannot stop anyone from fund raising.
I cannot say with all certainty at this time ...that I would indeed need it or not ..even.
geez I hate uncertainty. I like things clear obvious and certain.

The gents got back to me and said they would indeed hold my neo whilst I throw monies paying it down (if it comes to that grimmest possibility with my situation...)
    Thanks neo team.
It provides (if horribly necessary) some breathing space.

    Hello.

Please excuse me for offtopic. I know that there is a separate thread for that. But that thread doesn't get any replies for a long time, so I decided to ask here.

Is there still a problem with PayPal? I discovered it just now and I am willing to raise the devil at PayPal's tech support. But I want to know that I won't look stupid because you already got your money from them.
