There were 2 stickers on the screen, one was easy to remove... but the other was in 2 layers and despite my best efforst I couldn't get it to come off in one piece.

The bottom layer is stuck to the screen very badly. I've tried to scrape it off, but it's stuckon quite bad. It was diamond shaped metallic pieces, probably part of a security feature.

Any tips on getting it off w/o damaging the screen?

That tab is attached to the plastic that serves as shipping protector... Otherwise it is hard to remove the plastic film from the display.

Welcome to the sticker club: Ridiculous stickers on screen of new unit

It's actually on a full-screen clear plastic protector that can be popped off the real screen.

Don't feel stupid. I imagine a large percentage of people don't figure it out within the first few minutes of messing with it. I'm just glad I didn't use even more force than I did to try getting it off. And I was about ready to grab a razor blade to try scraping it off. Yike!

If anyone from Nokia reads this perhaps they could get manufacturing to print 'shipping protector, remove before use' on the plastic, or even just RTFM. I dont know about the rest of you but the setup instructions that came with my n810 were clear about removing it.
