Sorry for being a newb, but...

There is no /apps at all.

There is an apps in my /home/user directory, but in there is only camera, email, and omweather located there.

I found grcm in /usr/bin, but that is the executable.

What am I missing?

The settings are kept in gconf which you can compare to regedit for Windows ...
there is a gconf tool available from the command line : in xterm type gconf <tab>
There was a Gconf Editor for OS2007 but I could never find an OS2008 version or the sources ...

gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/grcm

got the job done, thanks fredoll.

Now I know about gconftool, or at least that it exists! So much more to go.

I installed grcm from the application manager (v0.3) in OS2008 and the only type of connections it is allowing me to create are FTP. I have the OpenSSH client installed and can use ssh from the commandline, but the ssh connection type does not show up in grcm. Is there something I have to manually configure outside of grcm to get this to work?
