    @bundyo
Sure I will! It is really amazing, as 10 minutes before he called I was cursing that pre-orders are over! :P One never knows what is intended for him!

It's very possible and easy to get Google Play Store on an Jolla device, but it's totally without Google's allowance/permission.

heh... as if they'd get Google's blessing for that. Let's see how this plays out...

I wonder if they plan to use a previously obtained GMS license for when they were still on Android.

Speculating here... you'd almost think that would no longer be the case the second the core OS is not Android.

    Wut?

One needs Goggle's allowance to use/install Play Store???
Then I am a bad guy as I just put those apks on my device to give this thing a bit of use for my children.

NB: I never thought of that as I would believe they are happy to infiltrate as much devices as possible ...

Individuals can do pretty much as they please, but to bundle Google services (on commercial product) I guess one needs to have some kind of permission. AFAIK Google has some strict rules for that.

This is getting better and better....

    Also this one:

    http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/...ans-necessary/

It quite nicely describes how Google incrementally abandons open source apps and components and moves stuff into their proprietary Google Apps - including APIs!

True. That's what may become a major hinderance in the future.

In principle, it might be possible to get GMS licensed to Sailfish/Alien Dalvik, as long as it can pass CTS: http://source.android.com/compatibility/cts/index.html

Another option would be to just install them and wait for someone to file a lawsuit.

I like it! So racing and tough build I want that Dark wyvern
IMO they just slapped Sailfish OS 2.0 on top of their existing specs page

As makeclick says above, I suspect that UI bit was valid when they were talking about shipping it with Android and just forgot to take it down when they switched to Sailfish.
