OK! I solved the "no items found" problem it by navigating inside the card and selecting ONLY the Folder containing Music (.mp3) in the card, for Example: /mmc2/Audio Clips/Music/Artist-1 and so on, instead of selecting the complete internal card as I was doing it originally!!!

In beta 4 and earlier I have NO problems in selecting the Complete Internal card and forgetting!!! But in beta 5 I have to be more specific.

Hi Caleb,

Yes there a way that you can send us some of the mp3s that doesn't appear? that's the only way we can help : / we have a sd card with several mp3's from users of the forum that we try to keep 100% find rate, and if you having only 20% finding rate something is quite wrong with our software in dealing with the specifics of your library.

my email is handful at gmail... so send me as much files as you please on packages of 10mb.

Can you only double check this :

1) I know you probably selected your card on the media settings... but
2) can you select only the folders (not the card) where the music is located and tell me if it finds more music?

I will wait for the files, and add them to the test right away!

Marcelo

cLin : you appears to be missing it, can you try running it with -vv as argument? :

canola -vv

And send us the result here?

Thanks

Hi cLin,

You just don't have installed the most important component for Canola (as I said in the last email)

I read previously that you used the cleanup app and still face the problem : / this is bad news, because the cleanup script is exactly what we would ask you to do on command line to solve this kind of problem.

Are you able to use command line (connect to your device using SSH) ? if so, I will ask one of the guys in the team to guide you, but I would like to ask you one last thing :

can you try (I know, again) double check if canola-cleanup has an update (we fixed lots of bug from beta3 to beta4 also in cleanup ) update it, run it. REBOOT (without the power cable on) and then install, but before installing make SURE you don't have an alternative repository (like the first people did to workaround the repository problem). Disabling all repositories but maemo and maemo extras should do the trick.

If this doesn't work then we will try to help you installing manually and if this doesn't help : / then we will be left with 2 options : you will be able to have an ip for you device and we can remotely connect and fix it for you.. or you will need to flash the device to really solve the problem.

*It seems that for some reason the application manager received and accepted to install a broken package from the official maemo repository. Canola cannot work without ecore (it's responsible for the mainloop of the application) and thus it shouldn't be installed without it : /

I will wait for more feedback from you

Marcelo

What should the version number on the canola cleanup be? I have version 0.1.3-maemo1. I followed your instructions, still no go. So weird, would any other applications be interfering with it?
