Real problems will arise by the end of 2016, when WA will cease support to Symbian
We don't know for sure what will happen then, whatsapp has never been supported for N900 so basically nothing will change.
There is always the possibility to switch to Telegram. Their loss if that happens. I am not going to use another phone.
Except that the n900 yappari pretends to be a symbian device and so a cessation of the service for symbian must have an impact. Unless yappari assumes a new disguise and a feature lack is a likely complication there. Surely?
They said they will stop supporting these devices and recommend "upgrading" to Android, iPhone or Windows phone to continue using Whatsapp. IMO it is still unclear what they mean by that.
Yes, I agree updates are a no no. But further than that, it is guesswork. Likely IMO, is that fairly soon some or other feature will emerge to become a standard part of the Whatsapp experience, leaving the older phones high and dry.
Hmmm, that did not take long at all.... I guess they are updating even those "older" platforms, as Whatsapp pointed to the end of 2016 as the "death"-point
