Hey, i would reall like to have a vnc viewer on my n800 with os2008
(so i can control my pc from my tablet)

ive been doing some research but i can only find viewers for os2007, and the things i do find for 2008 are servers, not veiwers,

could anyone help? is there a vnc veiwer out on os2008 atm?

Yes, I had it working on my N800 when I was running 2008 on it.

I found it by
- going to www.gronmayer.com/it
- selecting the 2008 OS button
- putting vnc in the search box
- installing the repository that the search produced (which was probably something like maemo hackers testing)
- searching for vnc in the application manager "browse installed applications" section via the binoculars button at the bottom.

agh! that's where I got it from, the garage. Realised that, came here, someone beat me to it I was installing so much stuff yesterday I forgot what came from where.

Thanks for the info. I also have been searching for this app for OS 2008 on the web for that last couple of months and had no luck until I found this forum and thread.

I bought my n810 to remote into my home and work computers and this does the job.

The info has been on the Wiki for quite a while.

I have N810 I used VNC for like 10 days or so on the tablet then it stopped working.. I wont connect to any of the pcs at my home network.

All the pcs with VNC are able to connect to the others. But internet tablet somehow can't connect to them.

XVNC(vnc server) does work with N810 so I am able to connect to N810 with my pc.

I updated to latest version OS2008 v. 2.2007.51-3 tried it again
same thing It just wont connect.

I think I'll wait until there is a newer version of VNC for the os2008
