    EDIT 2: Problem solved.

    Fix: a simple command in terminal;

    Code:
    dconf reset -f /apps/jolla-camera/
    (changed from my original command, which unnecessarily reset the entire 'dconf' system. So, as suggested by Fuzzillogic, I've tested and updated the command.

    Job done!. flashlight option now available and functioning.

    Hi,

    apparently, the option to use the flashlight while in video recording mode, was made available in Aurajoki. I've never had that option.

    Edit: I have already tried reinstalling the application, but it made no difference.

    I have already posted about this on TJC

    This didn't work - IF someone has rpmrebuild on their device and also has the flashlight option in their jolla-camera/video application, could you please compile it and upload it somewhere?.

    Perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree and the problem resides outside of the jolla-camera application?, any ideas/info gratefully received!

    Sorry, recompile what? Rpmbuild?

    Seriously, I don't get your request. I guess you are asking someone to download jolla-camera sources (from where?), build the binary and give it to you. How is having rpmbuild on the device relevant? Why can't you build it yourself? Why are you assuming that some random person building it for you will yield a different result than Jolla building it? I am confused!

    For what it's worth, I never realized that the camera light was new in Aurajoki. I found it entirely by accident and assumed it's always been there. I never found the need to use it.

    Mind you, it is only available in the video mode:

    No Pichlo, you misunderstand. RPMRebuild is an app on Openrepos. You can use it to recompile RPM's already installed on your device. In other words, rebuild the camera app on a device which has the flash option in the camera app. ....what's so hard to understand?

    Ahhh, RPMRebuild! Two easily missed letters
    Sorry, never used it. Didn't even know it existed.
    My other questions still stand.

    Okay Pichlo, now you know what rpmrebuild is. Cool, everyday is a school day, even at my age.

    Quite simply put;

    User A has jolla-camera app and he/she reports that flashlight in video mode is working.

    User B, is crying, because HE doesn't have that option in video mode, despite having the same/latest OS version - User B is very upset (not really, but just for effect!)

    User B then thinks;

    .....oO("hmmmm, maybe if had the same RPM/build version as User A, it might just give me the flashlight option!")Oo.....

    Is that such an unreasonable thought?, or have all my years of alcohol and drug abuse finally caught up with me?

    Here you go, hope it helps.

    but I had a warning during the process (warning: Could not canonicalize hostname: Sailfish). No idea what that means.
