Using the HP Pro Tablet 608 G1, it runs windows but could probably run some sort of linux. It has a active digatizer and there is an optional keyboard addon.

I suspect that drivers from UEFI up will be your issue; especially the digitizer under Linux. Doesn't mean that it's impossible, I think that it may be a bit more difficult than intended due to the Bay Trail/Cherry Trail chipset issues and how badly Intel supported those even in the Windows environments.

Although, I'd have to say that's one helluva of a concept though and a pretty darn good device that can be found for cheap.

The graphics, bluetooth, wifi, sound are all intel based and the rest is fairly generic components. The only thing I see being an issue is the touch screen and digitizer. The efi isn't an issue due to it being 64 bit windows and 64 bit efi

Then have you attempted to run Linux on it? Do you see other success/failure stories?

Quick search didn't yield much more than idle chat, no deliveries.

I have nit yet attempted to run it though I may do just that. I did however look into the device manager and see the vendors of the components.

I can use virtual keyboard if the screen is massively big, like 5.5 inch above.

Smaller device will be nice on hand but a real pita typing without physical keyboard. Swype can be a partial solution but……

I have used a much smaller screen in the past without making as many typos.
I agree a screen size is a factor but does not seem like the main one.
