HI Dave999: Please reword post. I don't understand what you are saying here.
Regardless, this make me chuckle...
There was a man who entered a local paper's pun contest. He sent in ten
different puns, in the hope that at least one of the puns would win.
Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.

Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.
I send in 8 random words and my hope was that atleast some of them would make sense. No words of ten did.
Now let's move on.
The election is imminent. Are you ready to vote? Will you bring a gun while voting?
The election is effectively over. Time to move on.
Nothing like old fashion American vigilantism to bring the world closer to the end. Better start another countdown...

It ain't over until the fat lady sings or will smith lighting a cigar in/on an alien spaceship.
But yeah, I concur we do need a countdown. So Texas won't go for a Texit? TexMex? Texrat! Anyone knows what he is doing nowadays? He was from Texas, possible.
Candidates were listed alphabetically by pres. candidate's last name.
Yes, you can elect to vote for no one as well.
Technically my vote is for an elector from my state who will cast his or her vote at the electoral college later in the year. My state has a winner-take-all system for presidential electors -- whoever gets the largest popular vote gets all the state's electoral college votes. In this case, it doesn't really matter. We're small enough that no one cares and no candidates campaign here, and predetermined enough that . . . well . . . no one cares. But I voted anyway!
Also up were one of my state's 2 US Senators -- another foregone conclusion, and our district's US Representative (to the House of Reps) -- a much closer race. Also a representative and senator to our state legislature. Those seats are more up for grabs. Our seat on the state board of education is also up for grabs, a position with little power but important in not making us look like a bunch of countrified dumb-asses.
Some state judges were up for "retention" -- you can vote to keep them or not. Surprising amount of politics in some of those positions this year -- they haven't been having enough executions for some voters' tastes.
Lastly, a state constitutional amendment regarding -- of all things -- hunting and fishing.
