Is there any modern phone comparable to n900 in terms of a relatively full keyboard?

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but the Moto Z is a modern phone and the add-on keyboard looks very nice.

One gets some hits on gsmarena, but it does not cover all smaller makes world wide.

For time being:
Blackberry Keyone, exp release April 2017, Android, 4.5" screen.
Icemobile 2.2" screen, released one year ago.

Take a look at the blackberry. Some of them have nice little keyboards.
