Could somebody tell me how to add a new font? I've already tried to add some fonts to ~/.fonts but in app Notes I cant see the new font (I tried add Arial_Black.ttf from my distro Ubuntu). I'm trying it because I need some font that is able to show czech characters, mainly in mplayer with subtitles. Furthermore I'm not sure which character set I should use to correct depiction of czech letters. I tried to recode some subtitles from CP1250 to UTF-8 and then it wasnt problem to display it with use cat command. But in mplayer czech letters doenst work. So now im trying to figure it out but really Im not sure I chose good way how to solve it.

Does somebody understand me? If somebody knows... please help me with it. Thanks a lot...

Default font was OK for me, I just needed to tell mplayer correct encoding of my subtitles (something like -subcp cp1250).
