Google Gears w/ Google Calender & other Google Apps

I've installed Google Gears on my N800 2008OS.

Can anyone get Google Calender to work with it.

I use Google Calender at home and have my work Microsoft inbox synced to it. Having Google Calender offline on my N800 would be awsome and make my N800 the ultimate machine!!

I tried Google Reader and it seems to work.

Has anyone had success with any other Google apps?

    Thanks

How did you install google gears? I was not aware it was available for the tablet, google doesn't seem to think it is anyways.

Have google realy added gears support for their calendar? Try run it on your desktop first to see that the gears thing works for calendar. I run gears on my N800 and it works most of the times with google reader though I find it a bit shaky and unstable.

You can use erming to sync google calender to GPE calendar on your tablet instead, it works very good!

Some people have reported Google Calendar prompts for Google Gears access (there was a link floating around). But it doesn't actually work.

If you type javascript:_olp_showPromo(); into your browser, you get prompted to install gears for calendar. It suggests you will be able to view 3 months worth of calendar entires when off line.

Does it work ? Well, I can still see my calendar entries when I disable my internet connection, and can view various days by clicking on the calendar, but no idea if I could have done that prior to the gears instal. The usual "offline" icon that appears in reader etc doesn not appear on calendar.

Coming soon I think. No idea when.

    Noger

When you state "I can still see my calendar entries when I disable my internet connection" do you mean you are "seeing" your Google calendar in an off line mode or are you "seeing" another application? I am currently syncing with GPE and it works well.

"Seeing" Google Calendar in what looks like an offline mode. Or at least it still allows you to see your calendar entries rather than giving the "404 not found" error.

I installed gears about six months ago on my N810 and it worked fine for Remember The Milk.

A few days ago Google Calendar came out with beta offline support, but I can't get it to work. GC now sports a "Offline Beta" link which leads to a page saying Gears needs to be updated, which leads to a page saying Gears is already installed. If I tell it to reinstall Gears it downloads an incompatible install file (no surprise).

I can't see any newer Gears install file on calio.it. I tried disabling and reenabling Gears and restarting the browser several times. Haven't tried reinstalling it but I don't see how that would help. Any

Hmm.. the offline now is a seperate thing I think. It just saves the calendar to the computer but you can only browse that week's events and you can't add anything. I believe it works without Gears.

Edit: I was wrong, it needs Gears
