Does anyone know why double tap is deactivated?

Is the Build community instruction, it is written :

"Double-tap to wake is deactivated. Ask on IRC for more info"

So, anyone has asked for info?

It interferes with the device sleeping and seems to cause considerable battery drain.

The sony device im porting also has a clearpad touchscreen with this feature and so I wanted to test it out.

sure, but the sleep / wake cycle of sailfish is completely different to that of android, im sure its fixable its just a question of development

Dear lazyweb, have they ever explained why they start "selling" it before there's a chance to download it? I mean... why would anybody pay on Sept. 27th if I can as well pay on Oct 11th?

Many will be paying out of tablet refunds, others will be eager out of excitement or just to avoid issues on the 11th.

From Jolla's perspective, aside from getting money in early, they can deal with any issues on the payment side asap.
